How We Took an Electric Boat Motor Store from 816 Clicks to 4,640 Clicks in One Year
Who Is EMO Electric?
EMO Electric is a US-based online store selling electric outboard boat motors, batteries, and accessories. They’re an authorized dealer for brands like ePropulsion, Torqeedo, and Momentum. Great products. Real customer reviews. Fast shipping. Honestly, a solid business in every way.
But almost nobody was finding them on Google.
The Problem
When they came to us, EMO Electric was sitting at an average position of 27.1 on Google. That’s page 3. And in most cases — page 3 is basically invisible.
Over the entire tracking period, they’d only pulled in 816 total clicks from organic search. For an e-commerce store selling products between $1,299 and $6,399 — that’s a lot of lost revenue just sitting on the table.
The thing is, this isn’t a bad business. It’s actually a really
What We Found
First thing we did was a full audit. And honestly? A few things jumped out immediately.
The product and collection pages had weak on-page SEO — no proper keyword targeting, thin meta descriptions, H1s that weren’t doing any work. The site also had zero content strategy. No buyer’s guides, no comparison articles, no blog posts targeting the kind of questions real customers type into Google before spending $2,000 on a motor.
And technically, there were crawl issues and speed problems quietly dragging the site down.
The CTR was 1.7% — which means even when people saw EMO in search results, most of them weren’t clicking. That’s a trust and relevance problem, not just a rankings problem.

What We Actually Did
Fixed the technical foundation first.
Crawl errors, indexing issues, page speed — sorted. Because none of the other work matters if Google can’t properly read your site.
Rewrote on-page SEO across the store.
Every major collection page and product page got properly optimized. Right keywords, right titles, right meta descriptions, right heading structure. Simple stuff — but it wasn’t done.
Built a content strategy around topical authority.
This is the part that really moved the needle. We mapped out a full content cluster — buyer’s guides, brand comparison pages (Torqeedo vs ePropulsion), electric vs gas cost breakdowns, owner resources. All targeting real questions real customers are searching for. Google started seeing EMO as the authority in this space. Because they are — they just weren’t showing it.
Added schema markup.
Product schema, review schema, FAQ schema — all implemented. This directly improved how EMO’s pages appeared in search results and helped with CTR.
Built proper internal links.
Connected the blog and guide content back to product pages — so the authority from content was actually flowing to the pages that drive sales.

Here’s what changed. Same website, same products just with proper SEO in place.

*Quick note on CTR — it looks like it went down, but that’s actually a good sign here. When impressions nearly 10x, the site starts showing up for hundreds of new keywords, including broader ones. That temporarily pulls the average CTR down. But clicks still grew by almost 5x. So the traffic is very much real.
So What Does This Actually Mean?
EMO Electric went from page 3 — where basically nobody looks — to page 1 with an average position of 8.2. Their impressions went from 47,600 to nearly half a million. And real people landing on their site went up by 468%.
For a store selling $1,299 to $6,399 products — that kind of organic growth isn’t just a vanity metric. It’s actual revenue walking through the door.
The business was already great. It just needed to be found.
The Honest Takeaway
Good SEO isn’t magic. It’s just doing the right things technical fixes, proper on-page work, content that actually helps people — consistently. EMO Electric already had the expertise and the products. We just made sure Google knew about it.
And so did their customers.
